Saturday, June 25th 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. – 100 Newmark Avenue, Coos Bay

The garage sale is one of our major fundraising events and supports classes, workshops, and operation of the center.  If you have items you would like to donate, please bring them by the center now through June 24th between the hours of 8 a.m. and 2 Empire Clamboree 2016p.m.  Mike Leigh will be happy to receive your donations.  NO clothing please – tools, equipment, household, etc. only. Please stop by the festival and visit the boat building center on Saturday, June 25th.  Your support is appreciated!
The center is also participating in the Coos Art Museum’s charm rally which began in April 30th  and runs through Dec. 31st.  The rally is in celebration of the museum’s 50th anniversary.  Brochure and map for the rally is available from the art museum, also at the boat building center.  There are 50 organizations and businesses participating in the rally.  Each organization has their own special charm which may be purchased for $1.50.  participants may have their brochures stamped and when they have visited all 50 sites, they can present their stamped brochure to the art museum for a prize.

The CBBBC is located just below the Hollering Place Overlook and north of the boat ramp in the Empire district of Coos Bay, Oregon.Turn on Newmark up the hill from Hwy 101. Go until you have to turn left or drive straight into the bay. The big red building will stop you.The CBBBC was funded by the City of Coos Bay’s Urban Renewal Agency; property owner Doug Devine; Charter members and members of the CBBBC; and many private donations from organizations, agencies and individuals. Bob Hergert of Port Orford will teach a scrimshaw class on Saturday, April 23rd at the Boat Building Center. The class is limited to 10 participants and will beheld from 10 am to 2 pm. The cost of the class is $45 for members and $50 for non-members. The fee includes materials to make your first project. Pre-registration is required as class space is limited.
